July 22nd, Hohenwald "Checkered Flag Speedway": Team 55 heads to Hohenwald with intentions of running in the Late Model Stock division; however, the track was short a few cars of making a full class and required that all late models to run with Supers! Joey qualified 10th out of 14 cars and finished 8th in the feature race. 3 of the 14 cars were not Supers.
July 15th, Hohenwald "Checkered Flag Speedway": Team 55 visits Hohenwald for their first time and runs Late Model Stock resulting in a finish of 5th in the Heat Race and 3rd in the Feature race!
July 13th, Duck River Speedway: Team 55 installs their backup motor and shales it down at DRS this evening. The back up motor is a 2BBL motor and does not perform as well as their primary limited motor. The practice session went well with some improvements acheived in handling.
June 10th, Winchester Speedway: Team 55 struggles the entire evening with an motor issues...Joey settles for a 10th place finish. No Late Models at WS next weekend, June 17th.
June 3, 2006 The Team takes off this weekend for his childrens' dance recital.
May 27th, Winchester Speedway "Super Six Cup Race #3": Of 30+ competitors, Joey qualifies 13th...Joey transferred automatically with the 18 top competitors with the remainder racers running consolation races to secure the next 6 slots to complete a field of 24 cars. Joey secured a 10th place finish.
May 25th, Duck River Speedway : The Team decided to go race at Duck River's big nite in the presence of the Storm Pay Crate Model series. Since DRS was not running limited cars, but were running 2BBL Late Models, the Team decided to put 'ole faithful "Frankenstein", the 2BBL carb. the Team built and raced on the Outlaw car for many years, and give it a shot. Joey came in with a qualifying time of 14.29 for an 8th spot starting position and finished 7th place in the feature.
May 13th & 20th Winchester Speedway RAINED OUT:
May 6th, Winchester Speedway "Super Six Cup Race #2": Of 26 competitors, Joey qualifies 19th...18 competitors transferred automatically. Joey started on the pole for the last chance race and won by a straightaway. Joey's starting position was 19th and finished 15th in the race.
April 22, Winchester Speedway: Team 55 takes the weekend off to follow up and work on some potential improvements to their racecar.
April 20, PRACTICE Winchester Speedway: Team 55 tests at Winchester Speedway. Track was heavy, not much work could be accomplished with this uncommon Winchester track condition.
April 15th, Winchester Speedway: Team 55 is still scratching their heads with their new chassis. Their qualifying set-up needs improvement. Joey finished the field of 18 cars in 11th following an 8th place. Joey spun and had to start in the rear late in the race only gaining back a few positions.
April 8th RAIN OUT
April 1st, Winchester Speedway "Super Six Cup Race #1": Spring is here! The weather for racing was very cooperative with low 80's as the high. Joey qualified 16th out of 25 competitors. The team is lacking in their qualifying strategies considering their lap times in practice are equivalent with the top five contenders. After about lap 16, Joey had worked his way through to the 9th position. After some close racing and a little rubbing, Joey had a tire going down. The team had to change the tire under caution and started back in the rear on the lead lap. Joey decided after about 3 laps that the car had some mechanical suspicions and returned to the pits. Official finish was 16th.
March 25th, Winchester Speedway Season Opener: Cold, cold, cold...that's the best way to describe the race evening at Winchester where neighboring tracks closed to to the inclement weather. The Team qualified 11th following the previous qualifier dispensing fluid on the track. Joey ended up finishing 11th in a typical "Slickchester" one lane race evening.
March 18th, Winchester Speedway Practice: The Team 55 crew took their new #55 Late Model and put in about 200 laps of practice. The Team is very pleased with their progress and is looking forward to a great year of racing. They managed to pull their lap times down about 2 seconds through about 8 hot lap sessions! Best time being 15.09 and averaging mid to low 15's toward the close of practice.
